The Ethicon MONOCRYL™ Absorbable Suture Y602H is a sterile synthetic absorbable monofilament suture manufactured from poliglecaprone 25, designed for soft tissue approximation and ligation.

MONOCRYL™ sutures are produced from a copolymer of glycolide and ε-caprolactone, providing excellent handling characteristics, smooth tissue passage and dependable knot security during surgical procedures.

The monofilament construction reduces tissue drag and minimises the potential for bacterial adherence compared with braided sutures, making MONOCRYL™ suitable for delicate tissue closure.

This version of MONOCRYL™ is dyed violet using D&C Violet No.2, improving visibility during surgical procedures and assisting surgeons during tissue approximation.

Poliglecaprone 25 has been shown to be non-antigenic, non-pyrogenic and associated with minimal tissue reaction during absorption, supporting predictable wound healing.

The suture is supplied attached to two UR-6 surgical needles, allowing efficient suturing and improved workflow during surgical procedures.

MONOCRYL™ sutures are widely used in general surgery, plastic surgery, dermatologic procedures and subcuticular skin closure, where smooth tissue passage and predictable absorption are required.

MONOCRYL™ sutures comply with the European Pharmacopoeia requirements for sterile synthetic absorbable monofilament sutures and the United States Pharmacopoeia requirements for absorbable surgical sutures.
